Project Aware Mentor Training Program
The Project Aware Mentor Training Program is a train-the-mentor/worker program. FII offers one or two day workshops for individuals who want to mentor youth affected by incarceration or other risk factors. To date, we have trained 61 mentors. Thirty-four of these mentors are working with FII, twenty-two are working with the Porter Leath Grandparents Mentoring Program and five are working with the LeMoyne-Owen College Community Development Corporation (LOCCDC).

The One Day Workshop

- The impact of Incarceration
- Child Abuse laws
- Understanding Diversity
- Conflict Resolution

The Two Day Workshop
|
In addition to the components of the One Day Workshop, the Two Day Workshop includes the following:
- Anger Management
- Parent Training
- Understanding the social and psychological effects of incarceration
