Family Support

The Support Group
Support groups are hosted every 3rd Tuesday for those formerly incarcerated or who have been affected by the incarceration of a loved one. The groups give participants the opportunity to discuss their issues surrounding the incarceration of a loved one or themselves. Each session will feature guest speakers on life skill issues such as healthy relationships, money management, and accessing community resources. Licensed clinical staff facilitates groups.

Our Time Entrepreneurial Program
The Our Time Entrepreneurial Program is a collaboration between FII and the Lemoyne-Owen College Community Development Corporation's Business Development Institute. It is designed to assist the left behind care-taker in areas from preparing themselves for the job market to teaching them how to start their own business.

The Reintegration Program
The Reintegration Program is conducted by FII staff. Participants are adult offenders in the pre-release programs in both State and Federal prisons. The program consists of life skills seminars and workshops, parenting workshops and job readiness training.

The FII Referral System
FII maintains an operational and cooperative realtionship with numerous community agencies as a part of its referral system. A partial list of those agencies includes:
  • Exchange Club (for counseling)
  • Memphis Police Department (various services including program speakers)
  • Lemoyne-Owen College Community Development Corporation (entrepreneurial training)
  • Community Health Resources (tutoring)
